Neurocore Seeks To Cure ADHD

One of the most prevalent neurodevelopmental disorders among children is attention deficit hyperactive disorder, more commonly referred to as ADHD. It’s a condition that can often lead kids to develop inattentiveness, hyperactivity and a lack of impulse control. It also sticks with them well into adulthood and beyond. Recent studies seem to indicate that it is a hereditary condition passed down from one generation to the next and it’s classified into three different categories. There is predominantly inattentive presentation, predominantly hyperactive-impulsive presentation and the final category is merely an amalgamation of the first two. One of the most commonly-researched aspects of ADHD is that of the use of neurofeedback.

Research on this subject dates all the way back to 1976. J.F. Lubar was the first scientist to conduct research on this subject and published an article in which he described his success in conducting experiments that helped to reduce children’s hyperactivity and improve their concentration. Many years later, scientists were able to combine this data with modern technology being perfected at UCLA to confirm their hypotheses that ADHD is partially a result of an increase in theta waves and a decrease in beta waves. Neurocore is currently using the data and information on this disorder that’s been collected over the years to develop and improve treatments for children with ADHD and they have had quite a bit of success. Out of the thousands of children they have currently treated for ADHD, over 3/4 of their patients experienced a significant reduction of symptoms and over half of them no longer met the conditions that constitute ADHD. A lot of cases of the disorder are often thought to be the cause of anxiety, sleep deprivation, learning impairments and numerous other conditions. That’s the reason behind Neurocore’s commitment to discovering the root cause of ADHD and curing it once and for all. They currently use advanced technology to analyze the brainwave activity of children and determine the cause of the disorder. So we wish them the best of luck in their research and we hope they are successful in discovering a cure. Learn more about Neurocore at Crunchbase.
